Statutory Declaration under the RTI Act 2005

The Mandate

Right to Information Act, 2005 mandates timely response to citizen's request for government information. This parliamentary act ensures secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

The RTI Cell

Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya is affiliated to the University of Burdwan and is a grant -in aid college supported by the Government of West Bengal. The college has successfully established an RTI Cell in compliance with the West Bengal Government Memo No. ED-1964 2017 dated 22.09.2017.

At present Dr. Ajay Bhattacharyya ,Teacher In-Charge of Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya has been appointed as the appellate authority following the retirement of the College principal Dr Asim Kumar Samanta on 31.01.24.

The college operates under the able guidance of its Governing Body, and IQAC, It strictly adheres to the rules and regulations set by the University of Burdwan and the Government of West Bengal. All information about the college is accessible to the public and can be obtained by Indian citizens.

The Process

To request information under the RTI Act, individuals can submit an application along with a non-judicial postal stamp worth Rs. 10.00 in favour of the Teacher In-Charge at Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Haripal, Hooghly. The application can be sent to the State Public Information Officer (SPIO) at Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya, Haripal, Hooghly. or submitted in person.
